This is a spinner with the yellow egg sac attached. If you prefer you may leave out the egg sac.

Materials:

Hook: Size 10 or 12 2X trout hook

Thread: Black 6/0

Wing: Light grey antron

Tail: Grey microfibbets

Egg Sac: Chartreuse floss.

Dubbing: 50:50 blend of Spectrablend brown olive and Muncher nymph seal fur.

Tying Instructions:

Mash down the barb of the hook and place in vise.

Run thread from 1 mm from eye to half way down the shaft, and then return back to the centre of the wrappings.

Take a 1 1/2 inch clump of antron and tie in at that centre point using figure 8 wraps:

Advance the thread to a point over the barb of the hook and tie in 3 or 4 microfibbets as a tail.

Make 4 or 5 wraps of the floss at the base of the tail and secure down with thread:

Trim the excess floss:

Apply the dubbing sparsely toward the rear of the wing:

Use figure of 8 dubbing wraps to hold the wings horizontally and at right angles to the thorax of the fly.

Trim the wings approximately to the length of the body and whip finish:

Presentation: Fish the fly in a dead drift at tail outs or in foamy sections of the stream.
