This is a spinner with the yellow egg sac attached. If you prefer you may leave out the egg sac.
Hook: Size 10 or 12 2X trout hook
Thread: Black 6/0
Wing: Light grey antron
Tail: Grey microfibbets
Egg Sac: Chartreuse floss.
Dubbing: 50:50 blend of Spectrablend brown olive and Muncher nymph seal fur.
Mash down the barb of the hook and place in vise.
Run thread from 1 mm from eye to half way down the shaft, and then return back to the centre of the wrappings.
Take a 1 1/2 inch clump of antron and tie in at that centre point using figure 8 wraps:
Advance the thread to a point over the barb of the hook and tie in 3 or 4 microfibbets as a tail.
Make 4 or 5 wraps of the floss at the base of the tail and secure down with thread:
Trim the excess floss:
Apply the dubbing sparsely toward the rear of the wing:
Use figure of 8 dubbing wraps to hold the wings horizontally and at right angles to the thorax of the fly.
Trim the wings approximately to the length of the body and whip finish:
Presentation: Fish the fly in a dead drift at tail outs or in foamy sections of the stream.
