Glue on the split shot (tungsten preferable) using head cement; do not worry as we will make the shot more secure at\u00a0 a later stage. I have positioned the shot above and below the hook shaft, leaving a\u00a0two hook eye space behind the eye of the hook:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy2.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy2\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Varnish the split shot and allow to dry:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy3.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy3.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy3\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Paint on some eyes with black head lacquer:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy4.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy4.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy4\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Cover the shot with small amounts of\u00a0UV resin and apply some UV light, to harden the resin. Keep adding resin until the head has a jelly appearance:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy5.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy5.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy5\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Start the thread behind the eye, and catch in about 18 fibres each in two separate bundles on each side of the shank; then whip finish at that point in front of the two\u00a0shots:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy6.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy6.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy6\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Now retie the thread behind the shot and wind backwards with loose,\u00a0wide spaced turns. Do not cut the tag end off yet as it will be used in the next stage:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy7.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy7.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy7\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Pull the fish scale over the shot, spacing the fibres as evenly as possible around the shot, and tie loosely: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy8.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" style=\"border: 0px solid #000000;\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/iwffc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/taddy8.jpg?resize=300%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"taddy8\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080; font-family: verdana,geneva;\">Now, take the tag end of the thread and pull it forwards to create a &#8220;cage&#8221; around the shot.
