\"CraneFlyTitle\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Hook:<\/span><\/strong> Trout, size 14 to 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thread:<\/span><\/strong> 8 O Black.<\/span><\/p>\n

Legs:<\/span><\/strong> 6 Paint Brush bristles, each one overhand knotted 1\/4 inch from end.<\/span><\/p>\n

Body:<\/span><\/strong> 2 Pheasant tail fibres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wing:<\/span><\/strong> 1\/2 inch of oval shaped saran wrap.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thorax:<\/span><\/strong> Olive brown spectra dubbing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Debarb the hook. Wind on thread to start of hook bend. At the hook bend tie in two pheasant tail fibres, and after a small application of head cement to the thread windings, wind the pheasant tails to mid shank. I find the fibres less likely to break if the fibres are hand wound onto the hook rather than using hackle pliers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trim the pheasant tail fibres.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tie in the first leg.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"CraneFly4\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Tie in the second leg.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"CraneFly5\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Roll a half inch oval of Saran Wrap, and tie it in just forward of the legs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"CraneFly6\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Adjust the wings to lie on top of the shank using figure eight thread wraps.<\/span>
\n\"CraneFly7\"<\/a>
\nTie in the remaining four legs.<\/span>
\n\"CraneFly8\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Dub on a small but thick thorax.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"CraneFly9a\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Whip finish and apply a small bead of cement to the underside of the thorax.<\/span>
\nADMIRE THE FINISHED FLY.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"CraneFlyfinal\"<\/a><\/p>\n
