Two weeks ago (before the Grand River in Ontario burst\u00a0<\/span>its banks) Charlie and I\u00a0visited the river access at the Iron Bridge on Weisenberg Road.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

As we approached we noticed a gorgeous 1974 Gran Torino parked\u00a0just before the bridge.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

We also noticed a younger bearded fellow who was in the process of stowing\u00a0<\/span>a weed trimmer in the trunk of the car.<\/span><\/p>\n

This seemed odd as there is no private property in the immediate vicinity.<\/span><\/p>\n

So we began to assuage our curiosity by firstly asking him about his car. It was painted exactly like the one in the old\u00a0Starsky and Hutch TV series from the late 1970s.<\/span><\/p>\n

We then asked what he was doing with the weed whacker.<\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that there was a floral memorial at the right of the bridge that commemorated the tragic raft drowning of fourteen-year-old Bryce Hogg four years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

He then added that he was not a relative, but he felt\u00a0compelled to keep the grass around the site trimmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

He then packed up his weed trimmer, started his car and left.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whoever he is this young gentleman restored our faith in the younger generation and left us feeling so very much in awe of his kindness.<\/span><\/p>\n

I never knew Bryce Hogg, and neither did the lad who trimmed the site, but Bryce has touched us in a special way.<\/p>\n
