Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club
I have fished Kulik for fall Rainbows. It looked just like the video when I was there a decade ago. Aim for the large dark areas between the brightly coloured salmon to get your fly into the pods of resident rainbows that are eating salmon eggs and rotting salmon flesh. It is the trip of a lifetime and I am lucky to have made it to that region several times. I was an IWFFC club member and a director way, way back.
Thanks for sharing your Kulik trip and tip, Paul. There is very little that compares to Alaska rainbow fishing. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the Pebble mine project NEVER gets assent; it would surely ruin one of the last vestiges of unspoiled piscine territory in Bristol Bay.
