Second Annual Grand River Trip

June 3-4, 2014

Back by popular demand, we are again organizing an overnight fishing trip to the upper Grand River. Last year’s trip to the Fergus/Elora area was so successful that attendees suggested it become an annual event. It is a great opportunity for members to enjoy a few days of fishing and camaraderie while sharing their skills and experience.

Again this year, we have chosen a Tuesday/Wednesday in early June to beat weekend crowds and hopefully experience a Henderickson hatch. Our two days on the Grand will begin at Wilson’s Fly Shop on Tuesday morning for a meet and greet. Our host, Rob Heal, will provide a river update and answer your questions.

 At the Drew House, innkeepers Roger and Kathleen are holding a block of rooms. Everyone must arrange their own accommodations (contact information is provided below). Please book early to avoid disappointment.

  • Rob will provide an update on river conditions, hatches, patterns, etc.

  • Maps with river access points will be available.

  • This is an opportunity for more experienced members to offer mentorship to the less experienced as we break into smaller groups and head out to the river.

  • Roger Dufau, a noted chef and restaurateur, will prepare our ‘not to be missed’ breakfast on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m.

  • Suites which accommodate groups of 2-4 persons, with separate sleeping quarters, are available.
