This little gadget may help.
This little rocket-shaped tool has a magnetised head that will pick up and retain your hook:
It has a base that will hold most metal beads:
The beads should be rolled around on your work surface with the larger hole down; the beads are loaded by pressing down on them.
Your debarbed hook can then be threaded onto the bead from the top of the bead:
The bead sizes are embossed on the base and on the handle. I initially missed the labelling on the handle and had some difficulty reading the small embossing on the base portion.
If you like gadgets on your fly tying bench, this is worth considering.
